What we take off your plate

The jobs your staff no longer do, from the first day of term.

  • No codes, no new passwords

Students sign in with the Google or Microsoft account they already have, or with one click from your LMS.

  • Teachers ready on day one

Every teacher and school admin gets the book the day you buy it, where the publisher gives teacher copies.

  • Licences that come back

A book hire licence returns when a student leaves, ready for the next one. No licence is lost to a student who has gone.

  • No re-typing rosters

Upload your student list as a CSV. Big changes wait for a person to check them. New students arriving from your LMS are added on their first click.

  • Many publishers, many titles

All of them sit on one shelf, behind one sign-in.

  • Your school's name on it

A custom URL just for your school, with your school's logo, so students know they are in the right place.

Made for everyone at your school

Every student starts the year with their books

  • Students have their books from the first day, on the device they already use
  • Notes stay private to each student. Teachers see progress, not a page trail.
  • Student data is stored in Sydney, Australia
  • Built to WCAG 2.2 AA, so more students can read without help

Spend only on the licences you use

  • Pay per licence, per book
  • Book hire licences come back for the next student
  • One report row per order, with licences given out
  • Order a book before it is published. Its licences open on the day it is.

Fits the systems you already run

  • Single Sign-On with Google or Microsoft
  • LTI 1.3 from your LMS, tested with Moodle
  • Nothing to install. It runs in the browser.
  • Each school's data kept apart inside the database itself
  • No IP addresses stored

Teach from the same page as your class

  • The book the day the school buys it
  • Share a note with other teachers, or with teachers and students
  • Add a book page to a course in your LMS
  • See the page each student has reached, and when they last read
  • Look at page proofs of new books before you choose next year's texts

More students reading without help

  • Microsoft Immersive Reader, where the school turns it on
  • Read aloud for a whole page, or just the selected words
  • A text layer under every page for screen readers
  • Full keyboard use, including Sticky Notes
  • Zoom up to 200%

Every student reads it their way

Microsoft Immersive Reader is built in. One button opens the page, or just the selected words, in Microsoft's reading view.

  • Microsoft Immersive Reader with reading tools that help students read and understand
  • Read aloud with the device's own voice, for a page or the selected words
  • Zoom to 200%, one page or two, light or dark
  • A text layer under every page for screen readers

From purchase to page in three steps

SchoolShelfStudent
  1. Your school buys licences for a book.

One licence or five hundred, for a term of 12 to 60 months.

  2. The book lands on your school's shelf.

Every teacher and school admin gets a copy the same day, where the publisher gives free teacher copies.

  3. Your admin gives licences to students, and they start reading.

Tick the students, or select all, and assign them together. Students sign in at your school's address, or from your LMS.

Safe for students. Safe for publishers.

Students see pages. They never get the file, and nobody is watched more than needed.

The book's PDF stays on our server. Only page pictures cross to the student's browser, a few at a time, each with a code that traces it to a reading session. The PDF never crosses. Our serverPDFThe file stays hereStudent's browserPictures of pages only4F7QX2M9KDA4F7QX2M9KDA4F7QX2M9KDA
  • Stored in Sydney

Student data is kept in a data centre in Sydney, Australia.

  • No IP addresses

The platform stores no IP address for a reader, and lists no devices.

  • Private notes

A student's notes are never shared. Teachers see progress, not each page opened.

  • The PDF stays put

Pages are sent as pictures, a few at a time. The book file never leaves our server.

  • Traceable pages

Every page picture carries a code that traces it to a reading session, with no name in it.

  • Schools kept apart

Each school's data is separated inside the database itself, not only in the app.

Publishers and resellers

Publishers run their own books in their own portal, and see licences bought by each school, never student names. Resellers see the schools they sold to.

What publishers get

Questions schools ask

Want the full detail? See everything in the platform.

Which curricula do you carry?

Any. Any publisher's PDF textbook can go on the platform.

What devices does it run on?

Any laptop, tablet or Chromebook with a modern browser. There is nothing to install.

How do students sign in?

With the Google or Microsoft account the school already uses, or with one click from the school's LMS.

Does it work with our LMS?

Yes, through LTI 1.3. Students sign in from the LMS, and teachers add a book page to a course as an activity. It is tested with Moodle.

Can students read offline?

Not yet. Offline reading is planned. The device will keep encrypted page images, never the PDF.

What happens when a student leaves?

A book hire licence goes back to the school. A per-student licence goes back if the student leaves before the year's cut-off date, and stays theirs after it.

Can students print or copy pages?

Printing shows a notice, not the page. A student can copy a short quote only where the school allows it, and every page image carries a code that traces it to a reading session.

Is it accessible?

It is designed to WCAG 2.2 AA, with a text layer for screen readers, read aloud and full keyboard use.

Where is our data stored?

In a data centre in Sydney, Australia.

How much does it cost?

Schools pay per licence. Book a demo and we will price it for your school.
